I recently learned that my story, “The Most Popular Girl,” will be published in a new autism anthology called Chicken Soup for the Soul: Raising Kids on the Spectrum. One of my writing goals for last year was to have an autism story published, and I learned on December 31, 2012, that I had made the final selection round. It was a nice way to celebrate the new year. Last month I learned my story would definitely be included.
The Chicken Soup for the Soul series has been good to me. This is my fourth publication in one of their books. The autism anthology will be released on April 2, 2013, but you can pre-order it now through my bookstore. I’m thrilled to be included.
A big thank you to Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing for publishing my work (four times!) and getting my work out into the world for others to read.
Until next time,
Cynthia Patton
Cynthia -
I’m one of the co-authors/editors of the book – and your piece has reduced me to tears not once, but every single time I read it! Just yesterday, my mother-in-law and my sister called to tell how much they loved (and cried through) your story –
Thank you for being such a fantastic writer!! (and for spreading the word about the book…)

Nancy,
I can’t tell you how much your comments mean to me. Thank you for the kind words. To be honest, I have trouble getting through the ending of my story without crying–and I’ve read it a bazillion times! I’m so happy that you and the rest of the Chicken Soup team selected my work so more people can read and enjoy it.
Gratefully,
Cynthia
